Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comparison to Esprit 5.5kg I've recently purchased a replacement for our Esprit 550 after 17 years of service as the water level sensor has just recently failed and lid trigger fell apart and parts would almost meet the cost of this new machine. (it was a great machine, until now only replaced a pump 5 years ago) and quite obviously there are many differences in quality and efficiency. this new one doesn't turn & separate the clothes as efficiently (reduced blade size on agitator) and doesn't seem to spin as much water out the clothes (heavier when removing from machine). I'm hoping I haven't bought an inferior machine trusting in the years of faithful service from the Esprit 550 which was built with high quality parts and had a very reasonable life span. stay posted.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A failure in engineering I honestly, sincerely doubt I'll ever come across a worse household appliance than this poor excuse for a washing machine. I beg you to save your money and buy a proper machine, as opposed to one that takes a minimum of an hour to do a 'quick wash', provides a staggeringly inaccurate timer, and, should you choose to put a single towel in it, has the mechanical equivalent of an aneurism. This machine is not worth anyone's time, effort and certainly not money. Spend it better elsewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Noisy Whilst this maching washes the clothes well and picks up lint ok. I am very dissapointed in the inability to do a quick wash and the amount of noise. The agitator is noisy and the pump too. Its like having a doof doof machine in the room.Cycles are very long and to change really entails turning it off and manually pushing it along on another program that is slightly shorter. Also no spin only function. I am sorry that I did not spend a bit more on another brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid work horse I have always had a Simpson top loader and probably always will. This one is not as good as the older ones. No spin only function for use with hand washing. The timer is VERY inaccurate. Otherwise, washes well, quick cycles and reliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simpson Eziset 5.5 kg top loader Problems already for Simpson Eziset 5.5 kg top loader. I have only had it for about a year, and already an e10 error code. I cleaned the lint filter (under lid, pull off spindle) and still won't drain the water.
